Hello! I'm Carolyn.
I am the owner of Anchored Paper Co., a calligraphy and design studio based out of Seattle, WA. My support system includes my wonderful husband, Nathan, and our darling little girl, Lillian. We chose her name because I loved how it looked written in calligraphy! When I'm not lettering, designing, or chasing after our rugrat, you can find me watching UW Husky Football and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
The nautical theme has run through my life since I was born, from being a submarine Captain's daughter to settling in the water-surrounded city of Seattle. Even more so, I feel as though my life has continued to be anchored in the things I value most: family, faith and following my heart.
ANCHORED IN FAMILY
I was raised by my wonderful parents alongside two older sisters in various military cities across the United States. Though we are now spread out across the states (Washington, California & Virginia) they are so dear to my heart!
I met my husband while at the University of Washington (Go Huskies!) in 2009 and we were married in 2012. His support is the only reason I am able to do what I love, thank you Nathan! We welcomed our sweet daughter, Lily, into the world this past October and we adore her so so much. We also rescued our little beagle, Teddy, in 2012 and his fun-loving (and mostly lazy!) personality is the perfect match for our family.

ANCHORED IN FOLLOWING MY HEART
For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with handwriting and the expression behind letterforms. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design from the University of Washington where I was able to marry my love of hand lettering and design. After working in the advertising and athletic realms as a Visual Designer and Art Director, I am following my heart by pursuing calligraphy and design through Anchored Paper Co.
